Garment Labels

Clothing labels, which are usually found on clothing products, provide information on how to proceed in different areas such as washing, drying and ironing. While some countries have their own information labels, they are generally of international standard.

Garment Labels

The most commonly used sign among garment labels is the wash barrel. It means that the garment can be machine washed in the normal way.

The temperature above the barrel indicates the maximum temperature at which the garment can be washed. If the wash barrel is underlined, it means that these clothes should be washed on a delicate setting.

● At a maximum of 95 degrees, it can be washed normally.
● At a maximum of 70 degrees, it can be washed in the normal cycle.
● At a maximum of 60 degrees, it can be washed in the normal cycle.
● At a maximum washing temperature of 50 degrees, it can be washed in the normal cycle.
● At a maximum of 40 degrees, it should be washed normally.
● At a maximum washing temperature of 30 degrees, wash normally.
● At a maximum washing temperature of 30 degrees, delicate treatment.
● At a maximum washing temperature of 30 degrees, wash in an extremely delicate cycle.

Indicates that the laundry can be hand washed. It should be washed with water, soap and detergent at a maximum temperature of 40 degrees.

Bleaching Clothing Labels

● It means that any bleaching agent can be used on clothes when necessary.
● If necessary, bleaches that do not contain chlorine and oxygen and preserve the colors of the laundry can be used.
● It means that no bleaching agent should be used during washing. Indicates that the fabric structure of the laundry is not resistant to bleaching and may fade.

Drying Clothes Labels

Drying labels are divided into natural drying and machine drying.

● It means that the garment can be dried at any temperature with the dryer feature of the washing machine or tumble dryer.
● Low temperature drying with a tumble dryer or washing machine.
● Drying with the machine can take place at a moderate temperature.
● Low temperature drying can be done with the drying feature of the washing machine or with a tumble dryer.
● Wet clothes can be dried inside or outside on a line or hanger.
● Clothes should be hung to dry without any wringing.
● Clothes are dried by laying them flat on a horizontal surface.

Ironing Clothes Labels

● The ironing process on the garment can be carried out dry or steam, at the desired temperature.
● No ironing should be carried out.
● Steam ironing may cause permanent damage to the garment. The maximum soleplate temperature of the iron can be 110 degrees.
● Dry or steam ironing can be carried out with a maximum soleplate temperature of 150 degrees.
● Clothes can be ironed dry or steam ironed at temperatures as high as 200 degrees.

Dry Cleaning Garment Labels

● Dry cleaning can be performed with any solution, humidity, heat and rotational speed.
● Dry cleaning cannot be performed on the garment.
